Our dive spots

Here are some of the dives we offer in our beautiful Lanzarote, but these are not the only ones—there are many more! Not just in different parts of the island, but even in our local reef, there are several dive spots not listed here. Contact us if you’d like more information!

Charco del Palo

One of the most stunning underwater landscapes on the island, with challenging access and rough seas, reserved only for experienced and fit divers. Charco del Palo is often seen as a prime example of Lanzarote’s volcanic seabed.

Waikiki

One of my favorites. The drop-off starts around 20 meters and goes down to over 30 meters. Several small caves are home to adult groupers, which are friendly. The chances of seeing angel sharks, stingrays, and moray eels are very high during their seasons. Before summer, the bait balls are truly spectacular.

Richie´s Place

Another popular dive, accessible by boat but very close to the shore. It might seem like a standard wall dive, but the route through the canyon makes it truly special. A great opportunity to experience Lanzarote’s incredible biodiversity.

Playa Chica´s Reef

Playa Chica´s is undoubtedly the most popular dive site in Lanzarote. It offers very easy water access as well as convenient facilities: benches to sit and prepare your gear, bathrooms, freshwater showers, and a bar where you can enjoy your surface interval with a hot coffee.

Conditions at Playa Chica are almost always ideal, with excellent visibility and marine life that seems never to rest. Anything you can see while diving in Lanzarote, you can see it here.

There are suitable dives for beginners, advanced divers, and some that require preparation for the most demanding and methodical technical divers.

The Cathedral

Probably the most well-known dive at Playa Chica, a must-visit for all advanced divers. At around 30 meters depth, you’ll find a vaulted cavern approximately 9 meters high. No matter how much I try to describe it, words can never do it justice!

Harbour Wall & Aquarium

While most dive sites are between 20 and 40 meters deep, Playa Chica still offers some ideal spots for beginners. Entering from the beach or the pier, you’ll find vibrant reefs full of color: seaweeds, sponges, octopuses, cuttlefish, crabs, and all the typical marine life of the Canary Islands. Not to mention the special seahorses!

You can’t come diving in Lanzarote without visiting our Blue Hole. Dive along the drop-off from 18 meters down to the base at around 29 meters. On the way out, you’ll encounter small caves and a large pinnacle often surrounded by numerous barracudas. There are several routes to and from the Blue Hole—we recommend exploring them all!

Blue Hole
Fariones´s Reef

To the east of Playa Chica lies the next section of the drop-off. Dives here must be carefully planned, taking into account currents, each diver’s gas consumption, and Nitrox to ensure safety. One of the most beautiful and exclusive dive sites in Lanzarote, The Eye and The Window are reserved only for very experienced divers.

Shrimp Cave

Another deep dive site at Playa Chica is the Cueva de las Gambas, located just in front of Muellito at around 40 meters. Only divers with the proper training and the Chill Out philosophy of safe and responsible diving should attempt this dive.

Just 5 minutes by boat from Muellito, we find a very popular dive for both advanced and beginner divers. Between 12 and 34 meters, you’ll encounter several deliberately sunk wrecks that form an incredible artificial reef—and what a reef it is! Although I mentioned it’s only 5 minutes by boat, there’s also the option of a special dive using a scooter. Highly recommended.
